Variety is the spice of life

Yesterday it was my RICO pompon throw today it is a waste not want not day. I have a bit of Aran I am trying to make into a baby blanket and I am thinking so far so good. Another few hours of crochet should see it grow more

End of year fever continued..

Now I have pulled out my rico pompon throw which is taking forever but it has a ways to go. When it is finished, it will be the best thing since sliced bread... The question is was was the best thing before sliced breAd?

End of year fever

It is a long time since I blogged not because a I have gone off crochet more because I seem to be busy all the time now. My cousin is still unwell in hospital and I have not had the chance to go visit him - I am hoping for improvement when I see him on Monday. In the mean time I have had what I call end of year fever!! I seem to have the urge to complete all my current WIPs. As a result I have completed 3 scarves which have been waiting for completion since last year. I won't waste time on words I will show you. Oh yes I am also trying to see how far I can get with the Krista blanket so I have include squares 5 and 6. Tomorrow it will be square 7-10 if I get the vava voom :)D

Do you ever...

Make something that you know looks ok but it does not convince you of it's beauty? Well I am currently completing one of my 15 WIPs and it is so uninspiring I don't know what to do. It is like climbing a very steep hill in a land that lacks life or beauty. I know it will be loved by the person who wanted it but it is a big struggle for me to fall in love with it. Check out the pics below and make up your own minds

Healing blanket update

The blanket grows and with it my hope which I am trying to infuse into it. What is heartening is that as I sit here waiting for my little one to finish with her Christmas Fair, I have had a few men commenting on how beautiful the throw is. Since it is meant for a man it means the colors are right :)D the exhausting part is the constant positive thinking I have to maintain as I make it. This morning I actually woke up with a hang over!!! Not because I had alcohol but from the constant focus I have to maintain. But hopefully it willbe worth it.

A healing blanket

My cousin is not well so I am making him a blanket. He keeps saying he is very cold. I hope to finish it by Sunday so I can take it to him.
I am using style craft super chunky. Total of 12 balls. I hope it will be big enough as he is quite tall.
I call it a healing blanket cause I am maintaining positive loving healing encouraging thoughts and words in my head as I make it for him. When I work with red I think of life, the will to live. Green the solidity of life within the earth..even when it fades in deep winter spring always brings forth a new burst of life. At present he is in a deep winter but I hope the sprigs and seeds of spring will grow within him every time he uses it. Purple is for vibrancy for he is normally a very vibrant man with the ability to make all around him laugh. I ask you all to send your positive energies to me that I may infuse even more positivity into this just for him.

I have to finish this today!!!

Procrastination has been the name of the game but today this shall change. I will finish what I started in order that it can go to the person it was intended for - my little one.
With the nights getting colder, I can no longer put off finishing her throw so she can be extra cosy

I am a baby afghan maker

Nothing more nothing less. As I complete one I look to another. This time I am going for something I have wanted to do for years. I will wait till I have more in order that I can show you what I mean. For now enjoy my pictures of the last project completed Wednesday of this week.

New project

Greetings to u all!!! Believe it or not, I have grandiose ideas regarding what I want to blog hence the silence. I imagine wowing you all with an amazing bit of literature interspersed with beautiful photos of crochet :) unfortunately,
1. I'm not that talented (re writing) and
2. I am too lazy to sit at a computer to blog... So I am using my phone once again 😊... As you will know from my title, I am working on a new project. The order was completed ...YAY...!!! As a result I am temporarily free to create something of my choice. I am making a baby blanket for Someone I work with. She is due to finish work at the end of November so I do not have much time. I decided to work with boyish colours and dull as they are to me they have a beauty of their own. Enjoy the pics and I thank u for all your comments in advance :)D

Well the person who ordered the cardigan hat and booties did not turn up so what do I do? I have decided to remake the cardigan. I started one in dk but it was turning out too big so I have gone back to 4ply. Hopefully I will complete it today so that I can go back to the knitted ripple I am making.

My baby sister just amazed me!!!!

She is working on a baby blanket for a friend. It is soooooo gorgeous it made me swear. I don't swear normally. Not at all in my vocabulary. Tell me what you think. Don't you think it is lovely?

A momentous day

Today I finished the order for a baby cardigan hat and booties!!! Finally I can start my foray in the craft I dislike but this time, it is to create some amazing blanket to be gifted to others. Not their choice. My choice. My sister and I worked out that I don't do well with ordered stuff. I like to create and being asked to make something specific tends to unconsciously upset me and halt my creative flow. So during this half term, I will be knitting!!!😖😅😩😅😊
